高校1年生の朝のひとコマをご紹介します。

高校1年生は週に1回、朝礼時にALTの先生の「1分間スピーチ」を聴く時間を設けています。

ネイティブスピーカーの生の英語や、海外の文化・日常にカジュアルに触れることで、生徒たちの「英語で伝えたい、理解したい」というコミュニケーションの芽を大切に育てています。

～　Today’s One-Minute Talk　～

Good morning! We’ve been talking about the first things that we learn in the beginning of the Bible (Genesis 1:1):

“In the beginning God…”, so God IS.

What did He do? He created you, me, everything, and everyone. Wow. GOD is God (not you, not me, not anyone else). Humans have made many different “gods” for a long time, but first, God gave us life.

There are beautiful and good things in our lives and the world. There are also terrible and evil things, so it is easy to ask, “IF God is good, then WHY~!?”

That is the wrong question. We can find the truth by asking, “God is good, but why~?” Then we begin to understand that the sad things and bad things in the world and in our lives are caused by sin. When people don’t listen to God and follow His love, we make bad choices that hurt ourselves and other people.

When we listen for God’s voice in our hearts, in the Bible, and in the good and wise people who know Him, we can also learn that God = Love; God is Love. (1 John 4:8)

He will teach us how to show love, and how to BE love.
